Dune’s first part ends on a note where we can see Paul (played by Timothee Chalamet) and Jessica (played by Rebecca Ferguson) trying to escape when Harkonnen has attacked the spaceship of Atreides and is trying to wipe them out from the face of the planet and get hold of the mining of spices. Dune: Part Two explores their further journey where they try to team up with the Fremens, build up an alliance, and set out on their new quest. Dune: Part Two further explores the technicalities of the plot which will soon lead to something bigger. We see several factions closing in on the Arakkis to harvest spice. We get to dive deeper into the complexities of the Bene Gesserit and their predictions. We get to learn about their hidden agendas and the fall of the Emperor. Let’s see how Dune: Part Two fares.

The movie begins with Jesse and Paul along with the Fremens looking to escape approaching Harkonnen soldiers who are after them. Soon they reach Fremen’s hideout and dispose of Jamis’ corpse using a unique method. Jesse soon discovers that she will soon be serving as the next “Mother Reverend” for the Fremens. As they believe that a messiah will come and deliver them. But here we see Fremens divided into believers and non-believers. Meanwhile, Baron has summoned Feyd (played by Austin Butler) is assigned the job of protecting spice harvesting on Arakkis. We also see love blossoming between Chani (played by Zendaya) and progressing further. Zendaya believes that people have made their own belief that someone from above will come and deliver them. And that she doesn’t think Paul is the one, unlike other specific Fremens. We see Jessica transform into a full-fledged oracle and strengthen the faith of the believers. Soon they move to the South to spread the word that their Messiah will come and deliver them. Further war continues leading to another bigger war.

The plot is kind of similar to that of “Game Of Thrones”, at least it feels like for most of the part. But only with less deceit and less eroticism. The tone of the movie is dark and serious which makes it somewhat difficult to engage in. The visuals are breathtaking and utmost care is taken in detailing the characters and writing their part. Let it be the costume or the sets, the VFX everything is pitch perfect. The makers have made a lot of effort to showcase different civilizations their cultures, their mindset, the language and they have succeeded in that. The only weakest part is that we don’t connect with the characters on-screen. The makers seem to have completely ignored this area as characters needed much depth to make the viewers feel a wide range of emotions. The movie feels slow in some places but the movie had a lot of interlinks that couldn’t have been ignored. Also, the cinematography is soothing to the eyes with perfect shots that make up for other loopholes.

Overall, the movie is sure to give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This movie is worth every penny and offers thrills and excitement. The background music does justice to the movie by making every beat feel in the theatre. Dune: Part Two is on par with Avatar and will surely leave an impact on the minds of the audience. Had this movie been shot on IMAX cameras, the viewing experience would have gone to a whole new level. Speaking of the third part, there has been no official announcement from the makers yet but we are waiting for the same.
